We were delighted to welcome Fiona, the Education Officer for the Westminster Parliament, to St. Michael’s Finnis this week!
Fiona spoke to our student council and P6 & P7 pupils about;
- A democracy (connections made between the Westminster Parliament and the Northern Ireland Assembly).
- The role of elected representative (MPs and MLAs) and how to contact them.
- Exploring issues that are important to young people.
- Why we have laws and examples of laws affecting young people.
- How young people can make their voices heard and participate as ‘active citizens’ in society.
